June 14, 2020 Order of Worship

First Presbyterian Church
Remote and Mail Order of Worship
June 14, 2020
                                                   CALL TO WORSHIP (In Unison)
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  May we stand before the Lord in joy to be sent out to the harassed and the helpless.  May we go out to share the love and wonder of our faith until every person knows the freedom, the joy, the equality, and the peace that we have in Christ Jesus.
Let us worship the Living God
 AMEN

Hymn Today: “In the Day of Need”
1 In the day of need may your answer be the Lord, May the God of Jacob strengthen you;
May our Lord send help from the high and holy place, And support you for the glory of God's name.
2 May the Lord God grant you success in all your plans, May God give you all your heart's desire;
May we sing for joy when we see the battle won; When the Lord has heard and answered every prayer.
  CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Unison)
 Dear Lord, we come to you this day to confess all that we have done and all that we have not done that shows your love and faithfulness to the world.  We ask Your forgiveness for where we have fallen short and for the opportunity to try again.  May we not rest until the whole world knows the grace and peace that you have given to us.  Amen.

 INVITATION
If you do not know Jesus as Your Lord and Savior, but You would like to come to Him, or come to Him again, You can do wo with this simple prayer:
“Dear Lord I need You, please come into my life today.  Amen”

SONG OF RESPONSE: “In the Day of Need”
3 Now I know the Lord will encourage all beloved, God will hear and answer from on high;
Not a word shall fail of the promises once made, Not the words of God's victorious right hand.
4 There are some who boast of the weapons of the world, But the power of God is all our pride;
Those who live by war shall one day collapse and fall, But God's people stand and in God's reign prevail.
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
Pray for us as we continue to curtail our lives against the virus.
Pray for those who live separated because of the virus.
Pray for our brothers and sisters in this congregation as we continue to worship together.
As you lift each request to God, the appropriate response is “Lord, Hear My Prayer”

 THE LORD’S PRAYER (In Unison)
 Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

OUR BENEDICTION AND DEPARTURE (In Unison)
May the Lord bless us and keep us.
May the Lord make His face to shine upon us.
May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us and give us peace.
Amen.
